Career Summary:
Dr. Wassim Odeh is an Oud virtuoso, composer, and artistic director with three albums of his musical compositions. He has participated in numerous important festivals as a performer and/or artistic director. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in performance from the "Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance" and a as well as a third degree from "Bar-Ilan University." Additionally, he served as an Oud instructor at the "Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance" from 2006 to 2013. Currently, he serves as the head of the Department of Arabic Music, a lecturer, and instructor at "Maqamat – Academy of Eastern Music" in Safed, a lecturer in the music department at the University of Haifa, and is the artistic director of the "Nazareth Arabic Music Orchestra." He achieved first place in the Marcel Khalife International Composition Competition in 2014 and second place in the International Oud Competition at the Cairo Opera House in 2003.
